Vasyl Kyfyak

Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Honorary Worker of Tourism of Ukraine, Laureate of the Yuriy Fedkovych and O. Popovych Prizes.
In 1979, he got his first higher education at the Ivano-Frankivsk State Pedagogical Institute named after V.S.Stefanyk, and in 1988, he got his second degree at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
Since 2002, he has been working at the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE as the Head of the Department of Management and Tourism and Dean of the Faculty of Management, Tourism and Restaurant Business.
Since September 2014, he has become the Deputy Director for Scientific and Methodological Work, International Relations and Innovative Development of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE.
Mr.Vasyl Kyfyak is the Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Scientific Bulletin «Economic Sciences» (CHITE SUTE) (included in the ‘B’-group) and the editor of the «Tourism» Journal of the University of Lodz (Poland), which is included in the Scopus Scientometric Database.
Mr.Kyfyak is a member of various boards and commissions, namely as follows:

Editorial Board of the Journal «Public Administration and Regional Development» of the Higher School of Economics and Management in Bratislava (Slovakia);

Specialized Academic Council for the Defense of Candidate and Doctoral Dissertations at the Western Ukrainian National University;

the ‘Upper Prut’ Euroregion Commission for Economic Development and Tourism;

Coordination Council for Tourism Development of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration;

Commissions for the development of strategies and programs for the socio-economic development of the region.
Vasyl Fedorovych is the author of 10 monographs and 4 textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for HEIs students. He has published more than 180 scientific and educational works in international and Ukrainian professional journals, including 10 (in foreign journals) and 4 (in local ones) included in the Scopus Scientometric Database. Also he received 3 certificates from the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine. He is the author of the municipal development ideas: «Trumpeter at the Town Hall» and «Light on Panska Street» in the city of Chernivtsi.
It was Mr. Kyfyak who initiated creation of the Regional Association of Tourism workers «Tourist Bukovyna» and who launched the annual Tourist Fair in 2003.
For his merits before the territorial community of Chernivtsi, significant personal contribution to the development of the tourism industry, education and science, and improving the image of the city, he was awarded the medals «For the Glory of Chernivtsi city», «100 Years of Bukovyna Viche», the Honorary Award of the Chernivtsi Regional Council «For Merits in favor to Bukovyna», and Certificates of Merit from the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration and the Chernivtsi Regional Council.
