"Management of Cross-border Interaction of EU Border Regions:
Education and Digital Solutions in response to Financial and Economic Challenges"
On April 23, 2026, the International Roundtable "Management of Cross-border Interaction of EU Border Regions: Education and Digital Solutions in response to Financial and Economic Challenges" was held at the Uzhhorod Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE. The event was held within the framework of the International Project HUSKROUA/23/RS/3.1/043 with the participation of representatives of higher education institutions of Ukraine and Romania, state authorities, local governments, business and student youth.
The following participants delivered welcoming remarks: Director of the ChITE SUTE Anatolii Vdovichen, Director of the UITE SUTE Petro Havrylko, Deputy Director of the ChITE SUTE Vasyl Kyfyak and First Deputy Head of the Uzhhorod Regional State Administration Andrii Kushniruk.
Project Manager of the Leading Partner of the project - Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Doctor of Philosophy Anamaria-Geanina Macovei welcomed the participants of the round table and focused on the importance of international partnership. During the event, the participants discussed topical issues of cross-border cooperation development, in particular the role of Interreg programs in the modernization of the educational environment, the institutional capacity of government bodies, the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence on business and education, the coordination of regional strategies with European priorities, as well as the possibilities of EU grant programs for the development of human capital.
The following delivered keynote speeches: Professor of the Ukrainian Technical University Yurii Koroliuk, Associate Professor of the Ukrainian Technical University Yulia Ursakiy, Representative of the Department of Education of the Uzhhorod District of the Transcarpathian Region Olena Hanych, Deputy of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Denis Man, and Student of the Ukrainian Technical University Daniela Reshetar. The speakers shared their own experience in implementing cross-border initiatives, implementing digital solutions, and developing regional policy.
During the expert discussion, participants focused on the need to strengthen inter-sectoral interaction, implement innovative approaches in training specialists, and expand opportunities for international partnership.
The event became an effective platform for exchanging experience, establishing professional contacts, and developing practical recommendations for increasing the competitiveness of border regions in the face of modern challenges.
