A Culinary Bridge to Serbia: ChITE SUTE Faculty Explores European
Hospitality Trends at International Masterclass
On January 26, 2026, the scientific and pedagogical faculty of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics of SUTE (ChITE SUTE) expanded their international academic portfolio by participating in the high-profile International Scientific and Practical Webinar, "Cuisine and Restaurant Business of Serbia." Tailored specifically for educators and managers within the hospitality sector, the prestigious event was fully funded by La Fondation pour la Formation Hôtelière (Switzerland), underscoring its exceptional professional caliber and strict alignment with modern European vocational standards.
The webinar was hosted by a distinguished panel of scientists and industry practitioners from the University of Novi Sad (Republic of Serbia). Representing the Department of Gastronomy and the Department of Geography, Tourism, and Hotel Management, the expert speaker lineup included Stefan Šmugović, Goran Radivojević, Velibor Ivanović, Mateja Stanojević, and Dr. Bojana Kalenjuk Pivarski.
The comprehensive program offered a deep dive into the European hospitality landscape through several thematic blocks:
Academic Benchmarking: A detailed overview of the innovative educational frameworks utilized by the Faculty of Gastronomy at the University of Novi Sad.
Cultural Tourism: An analysis of Serbia’s regional tourist potential and cultural heritage.
Practical Culinary Arts: A virtual, hands-on masterclass showcasing the authentic techniques, ingredients, and traditions of Serbian national cuisine.
Industry Innovation: A strategic discussion on modern restaurant management trends, focusing on the seamless fusion of traditional culinary heritage with cutting-edge business solutions.
A central theme of the forum was the commercial integration of culinary legacy into competitive, modern restaurant models, alongside the evolving role of higher education in nurturing top-tier global talent. By consistently engaging in these cross-border professional initiatives, ChITE SUTE’s faculty actively updates its curriculum, introducing pioneering European methodologies to elevate its training programs in Economics, Management, Trade, and the Hospitality Sector.
